Bearing mounting
Shaft/housing fit screening (ISO 286 / OEM tables), clearance, and mounting practice.
mm
Recommended fits (screen)
- Shaft
- m6
- Housing
- H7
- Clearance reduction
- 22.0 µm
- Est. operating clearance
- -13.0 µm
- Rotating inner ring, moderate/heavy load — transition fit on shaft.
- Ring temps (screening): inner 50 °C / outer 30 °C → thermal Δδ 6.0 µm.
- Operating clearance is tight — consider C3/C4 or looser housing fit.
Press fit / oil injection
Use arbor press or hydraulic nut for interference seats. Never hammer on the outer ring of a ball bearing.
Thermal mounting
Heat inner ring (induction / oil bath, typically below 120 °C) for shrink fit; cool outer for housing interference when required.
Locknuts & sleeves
Adapter / withdrawal sleeves and locknuts for spherical and some tapered mounts — torque and tab washer per OEM.
Clearance check
Measure residual radial clearance after mounting when C3/C4 is specified for thermal or heavy fits.
Continue in Selection for duty sizing, or Housings for pillow-block screening.
